PK and Kindergarten Families
Please check your child’s green take-home folder for a red bus tag. This tag is required for picking up your child from the bus. On the first day of school, please bring your ID since you will not yet have the red bus tag.
Green Take Home Folder
It is important that your child has our Greenwood communication folder, which is used daily for important notes. If you have not yet purchased one, please bring $3 to the main office on Monday.
Transportation Change Reminders
If your child’s transportation changes, you must notify both Mrs. Jae and Mrs. Christina in the main office at jtsjones@henrico.k12.va.us and cmmedico@henrico.k12.va.us. Please do not send transportation changes just to the teacher, as many teachers cannot check email until after school. Transportation changes are not accepted after 1:00 PM, and early dismissals are not allowed after 1:40 PM to ensure a safe dismissal for all students. We are looking for volunteers to play the piano outside our main office. Music in the hallway helps create a warm and welcoming start to the school year.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help open car doors throughout the week, which greatly supports safety and efficiency during arrival.
Breakfast and Lunch Reminder
Both breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge. Students should first go to their classroom to get their student ID and lanyard before going to the cafeteria for breakfast.
Student ID and Lanyard Reminder
Students must have their student ID and lanyard each day. IDs are used for breakfast, lunch, entering morning clubs, and boarding the bus.
Friday Teacher Communication
Each Friday, teachers will send a weekly update that includes highlights from the week, upcoming events, homework reminders, important dates, study guides, and class announcements. We recommend reviewing these messages with your child to stay informed about life at Greenwood. If you did not receive a message last week, please contact your child’s teacher.
House Shirts
House shirts will be on sale for $10 during the first week of school. All Heads of House should purchase their shirts for $15. Our Spirit Captains will be able to purchase their Captain shirt for $25 at their first meeting on August 22 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM.
