Sunday Greetings
Greenwood is full of opportunities to make memories, celebrate our Gators, and live out the Power of Us! We have a busy week ahead, from our Fall Festival, Unity Day, and Book Character Extravaganza to several exciting opportunities for families to get involved. Please take a few minutes to review the updates below, mark your calendars, and join us whenever you can!
This Week's Big 3
1️⃣ Unity Drive – We Need Your Help!
We're working toward our $35,000 goal! Please take three minutes to register your Gator and share your fundraising link with family and friends. Every donation makes a difference! Please Support our Unity Drive and Share with Family and Friends!
2️⃣ Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat – Friday, October 30
Join us from 5:00–7:00 PM for an evening of costumes, candy, and Greenwood memories! Candy donations are lower than in previous years, so please consider sending in a bag to help us make this experience special for every Gator.
3️⃣ Q2 Morning Club Registration – Sunday, November 1
Registration opens at 6:00 PM, and spots fill quickly! Review the club offerings with your child ahead of time so you're ready when registration opens.

Talent Show Tryouts - Friday, November 6
Does your Gator have a special talent to share? We are excited to host our K–5 Talent Show on Friday, December 18, at 11:30 AM! We welcome singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, poets, and students with any unique talents. If your child is interested in trying out, please CLICK HERE for all important dates, tryout guidelines, and participation expectations. The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, November 4, and tryouts will take place Friday, November 6, from 7:20–8:00 AM. We can’t wait to see our Gators shine their light!
Veterans Day Assembly – Wednesday, November 11
Greenwood will come together from 8:20–9:00 AM to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country! Our 2nd graders will perform special songs, and ADL will share a special routine. Students in 4th and 5th grade will also have the opportunity to participate in an optional writing contest by submitting an essay, poem, or letter honoring our veterans to Ms. Beecher by Friday, November 6. Two students will be selected to share their writing during our schoolwide assembly and earn 5 House Points!
Our students are also creating special cards to thank our veterans for their service. We are proud to teach our Gators the importance of gratitude, service, and honoring those who have sacrificed for our freedom.
We will also send home a form with details about the assembly. If you have a family member who is a veteran, please complete and return the form so we can recognize and celebrate the veterans in our Greenwood family during the ceremony!
Field Day Update - Monday, November 23
We are excited to make this year’s Field Day bigger and better than ever! If you are interested in volunteering at a station during the morning and/or afternoon, please CLICK HERE. We have also invited student volunteers from the Leadership Specialty Center at Glen Allen High School.
One important change: Field Day will not be open to general parent visitors or spectators. Instead, we will allow up to two approved adult chaperones per classroom to help lead student groups, carry water, and support teachers throughout the day. If you are interested in being considered as a chaperone, please CLICK HERE. With more activity stations than ever and expanded use of our outdoor spaces, parking is limited, and we want to ensure a safe, organized experience for everyone. Limiting campus visitors also helps us maintain appropriate supervision and allows teachers to focus on making Field Day special for our Gators. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to make this an unforgettable day!
Friendsgiving Luncheon - Tuesday, November 24
Greenwood families, join us for our annual Friendsgiving Luncheon on Tuesday, November 24! If you would like to purchase a Thanksgiving meal for $5, please click the Google Form here and submit your adult lunch order by Friday, November 6, at 8:00 AM.
