Greenwood Families,

We are excited about the many opportunities our students have to learn and explore beyond our school walls! We are grateful to our teachers for planning these meaningful experiences and to our families for the incredible support you provide. As we continue to offer these exciting opportunities, we want to share a few important reminders to help ensure every field trip is safe, organized, and enjoyable for everyone.

Chaperone Meetings

If you are selected to serve as a chaperone, you must attend the scheduled chaperone meeting. During this meeting, administration will review important safety procedures, share trip-specific information and reminders, and answer any questions you may have. Attendance is required for all chaperones. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you will not be permitted to chaperone the field trip. These meetings are an essential part of ensuring that every adult understands their responsibilities and is prepared to help keep our students safe.

Meeting Your Child at a Field Trip Location

We love seeing the enthusiasm and support our families bring to Greenwood! We understand that families enjoy being part of these special experiences, and we appreciate your partnership. If you plan to meet your child's class at the field trip location, you must communicate with your child's teacher in advance and complete the required online volunteer form. This step is an important part of our school safety procedures and helps us ensure that all adults accompanying or joining our students have completed the necessary requirements.

Please understand that families who arrive at a field trip location without prior communication with the teacher and completion of the required volunteer form will be asked to leave the field trip. We cannot compromise our safety procedures, and these expectations apply to everyone. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep all our Gators safe while continuing to provide meaningful learning experiences beyond our school walls.

Younger Siblings

To maintain the focus on our students and ensure that teachers and chaperones can fulfill their responsibilities, younger siblings are not permitted on school field trips. This applies to both approved chaperones and families who plan to meet the class at the destination. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping these experiences focused on the students participating in the trip.

Additional Field Trip Reminders

Please plan to arrive at school on time, as buses will not be held for students who arrive late. For safety and accountability, students who ride the bus to a field trip must ride the bus back to school and may not be dismissed directly from the off-campus location. Finally, all field trip payments for students and chaperones must be submitted by the communicated deadline so that the school can make the necessary arrangements and payments in advance.

Closing Remarks

Thank you for your continued partnership, understanding, and support. We know how much our families value these experiences, and we want every field trip to be a positive memory for our students. By working together and following these procedures, we can continue to provide meaningful opportunities for our Gators while putting student safety first. We are grateful to be part of such a supportive community!
