We hope all our Gators are having an amazing summer filled with rest, fun, and time with family! We’re already dreaming about the joy and growth the upcoming school year will bring.
We promise not to overwhelm you with emails during the summer, but we wanted to share some exciting updates and let you know that our school is already in full swing preparing for the most magical year yet. Our 2025 theme is One Team, One Dream, and we are building a year rooted in unity, excellence, and purpose. We’ve also had some exciting developments that we’re eager to share!
First, we’re thrilled to announce that 100% of our PK–5th grade teachers are returning for the upcoming school year. We didn’t lose a single staff member—an incredible testament to the support they receive from our PTA and community. High staff retention helps us build stronger relationships with students and families, while ensuring consistency and stability across classrooms.
We’re also excited to officially welcome Katherine Pisciotta as our full-time English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, replacing Mrs. Anderson. Ms. Pisciotta joined our team in April and immediately made a meaningful impact on our students. Joining her will be Sonia Sharma, an experienced ESL educator with extensive knowledge and passion for language acquisition and student success. We’re incredibly grateful to Henrico County for funding this additional ESL position to support our growing and diverse community.
We’re proud to introduce Jocy Vuiller as our new school nurse. She brings a wealth of experience and spent April and May learning alongside Nurse C to ensure a smooth transition. She’s already become a wonderful part of the Greenwood family.
While we are sad to share that Mrs. Trentham has decided to stay home full-time with her two babies, we wish her all the best! She will be deeply missed but has offered to support Greenwood as a substitute and instructional coach when she’s available. We’re excited to welcome Farrell Bishop as our new Innovative Learning Coach. Ms. Bishop comes with a wealth of experience and a passion for engaging students through innovation and technology.
