As we head into week 3, please know that our staff is just as energized as we were on the first day of school. Magic truly happens at Greenwood!
Morning Club Begin - CLICK HERE
As we kick off the first week of morning clubs, we wanted to share some tips to help you make the most of these extracurricular opportunities. We highly recommend that all club participants arrive between 7:10 - 7:20 AM at the car drop-off to maximize the time available for their clubs. Please note that students will not be allowed into a club after 7:25 AM. While students have the option to eat breakfast after their club ends at 7:45 AM, we encourage them to have breakfast before coming to school so they can head straight to their classroom for the morning meeting. After the first week of clubs, our facilitators will reevaluate if they can open more spots for students on the waitlist. If your child is removed from the waitlist, you will be contacted via email on Friday, September 6. Lastly, please ensure your child knows the location of their club and wears the appropriate attire if it involves physical activity.
School Play Highlights
We are excited to share highlights from our recent parent meeting about our school play, Rock the 90s. First, the Theatre Morning Club, held in the music room on Tuesdays during the first marking period, provides actors with the opportunity to enhance their stage presence and acting skills. Please note that this club is separate from the school play and is focused solely on general acting development.
Auditions for actors and the chorus will take place the week of October 28 - 31. Sign-ups for tryouts will be released on Sunday, October 13. Additionally, in the 2nd quarter, we will offer a morning club dedicated to set design and collecting props for the play. We have not yet finalized the date for the performance, which is planned for May 2025 at Holman Middle School, but we hope to confirm and share this date soon.
Rock the 90s
Step into the world of "Rock the 90s," where a group of students sets out to discover their true potential. Set against the iconic music scene of the 1990s, each character faces self-doubt and the pressures of fitting in. Throughout their hilarious journey, the students will discover the light within them and learn how to let it shine. This musical celebrates the path to self-discovery, the bonds of friendship, and the power of music to bring out the best in us all.

Grandparents Luncheon - Friday, September 6
Celebrate the special bond between students and their grandparents at our annual luncheon. This event is a wonderful way to honor and enjoy quality time with family while being part of our school community. Please allow extra time for parking, as this is always a highly attended event. We plan to hold the event outside in our Gator Gardens and the outdoor seating area in front of the gym; however, if the weather does not cooperate, we will move the event indoors to the gym and cafeteria.
If your grandparent cannot attend this Friday, please note that we have many other events throughout the year where they can experience the magic of our school. Parents and grandparents are always welcome to join their child for lunch any day, either in the Gator Gardens or in the cafeteria at the parent tables located in front of our mural.
Lunch Times:
1st Grade: 10:00 - 10:30 AM
Kindergarten: 10:15 - 10:45 AM
5th Grade: 10:40 - 11:10 AM
4th Grade: 11:10 - 11:40 AM

Family Photos
We aim for every student to have at least one family photo posted on the bulletin board outside their classroom by September 12. Thank you for printing and sending in a photo. These family photos are very meaningful to your child and help create a sense of belonging, reinforcing their connection to the school community and making them feel valued.
