Monday, August 26 - Cheerleading and ADL Tryouts
Students in 3rd through 5th grade are invited to try out for our Cheerleading Team (gym) and Advanced Drumline (music room) at 7:20 AM. We highly recommend that students participating in a tryout or morning club be dropped off between 7:10 and 7:20 AM to ensure they maximize their time with their club. Please note that students arriving after 7:25 AM will not be allowed to participate in the tryout or club. These extracurricular opportunities are an essential part of our program at Greenwood, as they enrich our students' educational experience, foster teamwork and discipline, and help develop well-rounded individuals who excel both inside and outside the classroom.
Wednesday, August 28 - School Play Parent Information Session
Join Mr. Stein at 9 AM for a Chew and Chat, where we'll share more information about our school play this year! The play's music will feature hits from the 90s. Our school play is open to 1st - 5th graders. Participating in theater is vital for students as it nurtures creativity, collaboration, and self-expression, building skills that benefit them throughout their lives. Thursday, August 29 - Advanced Dance Tryouts
Join Coach Robertson at 7:20 AM in the gym for our Advanced Dance Tryouts! Please note that there is an additional fee for this program, which includes 30 private dance lessons, performances, and three boot camps on student half-days from 11 AM to 2 PM. This dance club is crucial for developing a child’s confidence, creativity, and discipline, all while fostering a deep love for the arts.

We are kindly asking 4 parents to consider volunteering to help open car doors on Monday and Friday mornings. Your support is vital to ensuring a smooth and efficient drop-off process, which helps all students start their day on a positive note and keeps our school community running safely and effectively.

We encourage parents, students, and community volunteers to sign up to play the piano on Mondays outside the main entrance, DJ on Wednesdays by the car drop-off, or play the drum kit on Fridays outside the cafeteria. Your participation adds a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere to our school mornings, making a positive impact on the entire Greenwood community.
