Mark your calendars for an exciting evening at Greenwood! Back-to-School Night is one of our best opportunities to connect with your child's teacher, learn about what is ahead this year, and make sure your family has the information and resources you need for a successful school year.

Even if you have attended Back-to-School Night in previous years, we strongly encourage you to join us this year. We have several important updates to share, including our new math curriculum, homework expectations, continued reduction of device time, grade-level Legacy Projects, volunteer opportunities, classroom needs, our assessment retake process, and the communication apps families need to stay connected. You will also learn more about how we are supporting student attendance and academic growth, ways to support your child's learning at home, and how our House System and schoolwide culture connect to your child's experience at Greenwood. There is something new for every Greenwood family!

Siblings are welcome to attend; however, we ask that families step out of the classroom if a sibling becomes upset or disruptive so we can maintain the most effective learning environment for everyone. Siblings should not use devices during presentations.

5:00 PM – PK & Kindergarten Back-to-School Orientation
Our newest Gators will kick off the evening with a special activity and officially join one of our five Houses! At 5:15 PM, students will leave their classrooms with our LAMPS and administrative team for a mini pep rally in the gym from 5:15–5:45 PM.

While the students are enjoying their pep rally, parents and guardians will remain in the classroom with their child's teacher for an orientation focused on kindergarten essentials, important routines, and answers to your questions.

6:00 PM – Gifted Open House
More details about our Gifted Open House are coming soon.

6:00 PM – SINGO: Singing + Bingo
Join our administrative team in the gym for a special game of SINGO! This is bingo with a Greenwood twist—expect singing, chants, prizes, and plenty of Gator spirit. SINGO is open to all PK–5th grade students and families. Come ready to have some fun!

6:30 PM – Session 1: 1st–5th Grade
Teachers will host a 25-minute Back-to-School presentation in their classrooms. This session will provide families with important information about the school year, classroom routines, academic expectations, communication, homework, and ways to support your child's success. If your child's class is departmentalized, both teachers will present together.

7:00 PM – Session 2: 1st–5th Grade
Teachers will offer a second 25-minute Back-to-School presentation for families who were unable to attend the 6:30 PM session or who have another child with a presentation at the same time.

We are excited to welcome our Greenwood families back into the building for an evening filled with information, connection, and Gator spirit. We hope you will join us—there is a lot happening at Greenwood, and we want you to be part of it!
