One of our favorite events of the year is right around the corner—our Grandparents Luncheon! We are so excited to welcome our Greenwood grandparents and special guests for a special time of connection, celebration, and lunch with our students.

A few important reminders before the big day:

Please let your teacher know by Wednesday, September 9:

• If your child's grandparent or special guest will be attending.

• If the grandparent or special guest will be taking your child home after lunch.

This information is important for our planning and will ensure your child has their backpack with them when they come to lunch. We encourage students to remain at school for the full instructional day whenever possible, as learning continues through 2:00 PM. Every minute matters!

Lunch & Food Options

Grandparents and special guests will not be able to go through the student lunch line with their child. Guests may bring a lunch from home or purchase lunch from one of the food trucks that will be on campus. We will share the food trucks menu by the early of next week. If you plan to use a food truck, we recommend placing your order 15–25 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time to allow enough time for your order to be prepared.

Parking & Arrival

Parking will be limited, so please plan accordingly and arrive 10–15 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. We have a limited number of handicap-accessible parking spaces, which will be reserved for guests who need them. Please follow the directions of our staff and volunteers as we work to get everyone onto and off campus safely.

For the safety of our students and to allow us to prepare for afternoon dismissal, all grandparents and special guests must be off campus by 1:00 PM.

Weather Plan

We will continue to monitor the weather closely, especially given the recent heat. For the past five years, we have been fortunate to have beautiful weather and enjoy this event outside. However, the safety and comfort of our students and guests will always come first.

If the weather or temperatures require us to move the luncheon indoors, we will make that decision the morning of Friday, September 11. The indoor location will be the gym and cafeteria, and we will communicate any changes to families as soon as possible.

  10:00–10:30 AM

• 5th Grade:

  10:40–11:10 AM

• 4th Grade:

  10:45–11:15 AM

• Kindergarten:

  11:20–11:50 AM

• PK:

  11:40 AM–12:10 PM

• 3rd Grade:

  12:00–12:30 PM

• 2nd Grade:

  12:15–12:45 PM
