We are excited to launch our Student Advisory Committee at Greenwood Elementary! This leadership group gives our Gators in 1st–5th grade an opportunity to share their voices, represent their classmates, and help make Greenwood an even better place to learn and grow.
Each classroom will select one student representative during the first month of school. Our Student Advisory Committee will meet quarterly to:
Share student feedback and ideas
Celebrate what is going well
Collaborate on ways to improve the student experience
Help plan activities and celebrations
Strengthen our school climate and culture
Our student leaders will also play an important role in our PBIS Spirit Store by helping organize, package, and distribute items purchased with House Points leading up to Unity Days. They will also help us come up with new ideas for Spirit Store items and experiences.
This is a TRUE leadership opportunity! Student representatives will serve as classroom helpers, take on special responsibilities, receive a Student Leadership shirt, and enjoy special seating at pep rallies. Their voices will also be shared with staff during faculty meetings and with our larger Greenwood community through Mr. Stein’s “Spilling the Tea” virtual updates.
Student representatives must apply to be considered for this leadership opportunity. Applications will be available beginning Monday, August 31, in the main office. Teachers and students will vote in their classrooms on September 9.
At Greenwood, we believe every student has a voice, and every voice has the power to make a difference. We can't wait to see our Gators step up, lead, and help shape the future of our school!
The Power of Us!
