Our Win the Morning philosophy is an important part of the Greenwood experience, giving students opportunities to connect, explore their interests, build relationships, and start each day with purpose. Win the Morning

Clubs & Organizations

Families who are interested in morning clubs or have questions are invited to join us for a virtual chat on Friday, August 28 at 9:00 AM. We will answer questions, share information, and give you a preview of what’s coming this year.

Monday

Coding Club

Grades: 2nd–5th
Sponsors: Bishop, Coward
Capacity: 25 students
Time: 7:20 - 7:45 AM

Students explore coding through hands-on challenges, creative projects, and problem-solving activities. This club is designed for students who enjoy technology and want to build their coding skills.

Flag Football

Grades: 4th–5th
Sponsor: Henderson, Woodson
Capacity: 50 students
Time: 7:20 - 7:45 AM

Students learn and practice the fundamentals of flag football through drills, games, and teamwork. The club emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, communication, and having fun while being active. Our football team will have a few games during morning arrival. 

Futsal

Grades: 3rd–5th
Sponsors: Graham, Stein
Capacity: 50 students

Students develop their soccer skills through the fast-paced game of futsal. The club focuses on ball control, passing, decision-making, teamwork, and playing with intensity. Our futsal team will play a few games throughout the year in front of our Gators. 

Head of House & Spirit Captains

Grades: 4th–5th

Students serve as leaders within their Houses and help build school spirit and a strong sense of belonging. Club members will help lead House activities, encourage participation, and model Greenwood's values.

Tubano

Grades: 3rd–5th

Capacity: 12  students

Students learn to play the tubano through rhythms, patterns, and group performances. The club develops musical skills while emphasizing listening, teamwork, coordination, and creativity. This group will kick off our pep rally on Taji Unity Day on October 28, 2026. 


Tuesday

Bucket Drumline

Grades: 3rd–5th
Sponsor: Stein
Capacity: 50 students
Time: 7:20 - 7:45 AM

Students learn drumline rhythms and performance techniques using buckets as percussion instruments. The club combines music, movement, teamwork, and school spirit in a high-energy environment. The Bucket Drumline will perform at pep rallies and other special events throughout the year. 

Cheerleading

Grades: 3rd–5th
Sponsors: Jacobs, Johnson, Turner

Time: 7:20 - 7:55 AM
Capacity: 20 students

Students learn stunts, chants, motions, jumps, tumbling and basic cheerleading skills. The team focuses on teamwork, school spirit, confidence, performance, and supporting the Greenwood community. The cheerleading team will perform at pep rallies and special events throughout the school year. Cheerleading is a year round club. 

Gamers

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students enjoy age-appropriate games that encourage strategy, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. The club provides an opportunity to have fun while practicing teamwork and positive sportsmanship.

Keep Greenwood Beautiful Club

Grades: 2nd–5th

Capacity: 20 students
Time: 7:20 - 7:45 AM

Students work together to help keep Greenwood clean, welcoming, and beautiful. Club members learn about stewardship, responsibility, teamwork, and taking pride in their school. Students will make colorful posters to inspire our community to take good care of our school!

Math24

Grades: 2nd–5th

Students use numbers and operations to solve challenging Math24 problems. The club strengthens mental math, flexibility, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills through friendly competition.

Soccer

Grades: 2nd–3rd

Students develop fundamental soccer skills through drills, small-sided games, and fun activities. The club emphasizes teamwork, coordination, sportsmanship, and building confidence with the ball.

Studio G

Students explore creativity through projects and experiences connected to Greenwood's Studio G. The club encourages students to create, collaborate, take risks, and share their ideas.

Sunrise Social

Students begin their morning by connecting with friends and participating in fun social activities. The club provides a welcoming environment where students can build relationships and start the school day on a positive note.


Wednesday

Chorus

Grades: 1st–5th

Students will learn and perform a variety of songs while developing vocal technique, rhythm, and musical expression. Chorus builds confidence, teamwork, active listening, and a love of making music together. This year, we’ll also prepare songs for our school play, Captain, and have the exciting opportunity to perform on the big stage at Hungry Creek Middle School! 

Dance Team — The Troop

Grades: 3rd–5th
Sponsors: Robertson, Jacobs
Capacity: 100 students

Students learn choreography and dance routines while preparing for performances and school events. The Troop focuses on movement, teamwork, confidence, creativity, and school spirit.


KEVA Builders

Grades: 2nd–5th

Students use KEVA planks to design, build, test, and redesign creative structures. The club encourages creativity, engineering thinking, perseverance, and problem-solving.


ORFF

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students explore music through Orff-based experiences using percussion instruments, movement, and rhythm. The club develops musicianship, creativity, collaboration, and performance skills.

School Play

Students explore acting, storytelling, stage performance, and the many roles involved in putting on our school production, Captain! Club members will collaborate as a team while developing confidence, creativity, and communication skills. This club will involve after school practices in the 2nd semester and a performance on the big stage at Hungry Creek Middle School. 

Set Design

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students help design and create the scenery and visual elements for school performances. The club combines creativity, art, problem-solving, and teamwork to bring the world of a production to life.

Soccer

Grades: 4th–5th

Students will build their cardio fitness, improve their running skills, and learn about opportunities to participate in community runs while representing Greenwood. The club promotes fitness, teamwork, positive relationships, and starting the day with energy. 

Advanced Dance — The Heat

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students develop advanced dance skills through choreography, technique, movement, and performance preparation. The Heat is designed for students who are ready for a more challenging dance experience and enjoy performing.

Mahjong

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students learn the basics of Mahjong while practicing strategy, pattern recognition, and critical thinking. The club provides a fun opportunity for students to learn a new game and interact with classmates. 

Recycling Team

Grades: 3rd–5th

Students help Greenwood become a cleaner and more environmentally responsible school. Club members learn about recycling and sustainability while working together to make a positive impact on their school.

Rubik's Cube

Grades: 2nd–5th

Capacity: 20 students

Students learn strategies and techniques for solving the Rubik's Cube. The club develops perseverance, spatial reasoning, pattern recognition, and problem-solving skills.

Sticker Club

Grades: 1st–3rd

Do you love collecting and sharing stickers? In this club, we’ll trade stickers, share our collections, and even brainstorm ways to make our own! 



Friday

Students participate in activities that challenge their thinking, focus, memory, and problem-solving skills. The club encourages students to stretch their thinking while having fun with puzzles, games, and brain-based challenges.

School Play — Select Scene

Grades: 1st–5th

Students selected for specific scenes in the school play will rehearse and develop their assigned performances. This experience focuses on acting, teamwork, memorization, confidence, and preparing for the final production.

Sphero Indi Mission

Grades: 2nd–3rd

Students use Sphero Indi robots to complete hands-on coding and problem-solving missions. The club combines technology, creativity, collaboration, and computational thinking as students design solutions and test their ideas.
