Pre-registration is required so we can properly prepare materials and staffing for the evening. We highly recommend wearing a white shirt, colorful sunglasses, old shoes, and clothes that can get messy with color powder. Families are encouraged to bring cameras and phones to capture some unforgettable memories throughout the event.
Wednesday, May 20 – School of Pop Rehearsal at Holman Middle School
This rehearsal is for all students participating in step team, advanced dance, actors, chorus, and stage crew. Transportation will not be provided, and students should arrive at Holman Middle School by 4:00 PM. Students do not need to wear costumes for this rehearsal, but they may bring a snack and water bottle. Parent pickup will take place outside the school promptly at 6:00 PM, and we ask families to arrive on time for dismissal.
Thursday, May 21 – School of Pop Dress Rehearsal and Showtime at Holman Middle School
All School of Pop performers should be dropped off at Holman Middle School at 4:00 PM for our final dress rehearsal before doors open to families at 5:30 PM. We are expecting a packed house, so families should allow extra travel and parking time. This is a free event open to all families and community members, and no registration is required to attend. We will have a professional photographer taking pictures throughout the evening, so we encourage families to relax, enjoy the performance, and celebrate the incredible talents of our students.
Thursday, May 21 – RCA Spirit Store Closes
The RCA Spirit Store will officially close at 8:00 AM on Thursday morning. Students can use their RCA coins on rewards including extra recess, special lunch opportunities, VIP pep rally seating, Pie a Teacher, and more. Please remember that RCA coins do not carry over into next school year, so we strongly encourage students to use them this week. Families with questions about coin balances or purchases should contact their child’s teacher directly.
Friday, May 22 – Grandparents Dance @ 7:20 AM
We are excited to welcome grandparents and special family members for a fun morning of dancing and celebration beginning at 7:20 AM. Due to the large attendance expected, families should allow extra time for parking and arrival. The event will be led by our dance coach, Eleanor Robertson, and no registration is required to attend. This is another free Greenwood event, so bring your dancing shoes and get ready for a great morning together.
Friday, May 22 – End of Q4 Morning Clubs
What an incredible year it has been for our morning clubs. Starting the school day with passion, purpose, creativity, leadership, music, fitness, and teamwork has become an important part of Greenwood’s culture and climate. If your child did not participate in a morning club this year, we encourage families to reach out to Mr. Stein and share additional club ideas or passion areas for next school year. We are always looking for new opportunities to increase student involvement, and we truly value family feedback and recommendations.
Friday, May 22 – School of Pop at Greenwood @ 1 PM
We are excited for our School of Pop cast and performers to showcase their talents in front of the entire school community at 1:00 PM. Families are welcome to attend, and there is no cost or registration required. Opportunities like this help students build confidence, leadership, stage presence, and teamwork while celebrating their gifts and talents. We are incredibly proud of the hard work our students and staff have invested into this production.
May 18 - 22 – SOL Retakes for 3rd - 5th Grade
Good luck to all students receiving a second opportunity to showcase their progress, growth, and hard work throughout the school year. We are proud of the preparation taking place both at school and at home as students continue striving toward success. Families can support students by ensuring they arrive to school on time, get a good night’s sleep, complete any assigned review work, and maintain a positive mindset throughout testing week. Accountability, preparation, and effort at both school and home continue to play an important role in student achievement.
Tuesday, May 26 – End of Year Awards Ceremonies
This is our first year dividing our awards ceremonies across two days due to parking limitations and our continued school growth. Families do not need to register to attend any awards ceremony.
