Greenwood Families,

We are hopeful that we get to return to learning at Greenwood soon and have our hallways filled with students once again. We appreciate your patience and flexibility during these snow days. If you have any questions regarding the asynchronous work that your student needs to complete on Monday and Tuesday of this week, please reach out directly to your child's teacher. We are ready to support you.

February 2–6: Counselor Appreciation Week
Please help us celebrate our amazing school counselors, Mrs. Melton and Mrs. Johnson, next week. Kind notes, drawings, or words of appreciation from students go a long way in showing them how much they are valued.

Monday, February 2 - Jump Rope for Heart
Cancelled due to asynchronous school day.

The Greenwood Heartbeats are BACK!
We are excited to share that our Greenwood Heartbeats (a group of Greenwood staff) will be returning on Friday, February 13 to deliver Valentine’s sing-o-grams to our teachers. This is a fun way for families to show love and appreciation to teachers for all they do. A $5 order form will come home on Monday, February 2 and is due by Wednesday, February 11. All proceeds support schoolwide initiatives and staff appreciation efforts.

Friday, February 6 - Black History Month Celebration – 3rd Grade Performance
We invite all 3rd grade families to join us at 8:00 AM for a special musical performance celebrating Black History Month. We look forward to honoring student voices and learning together as a community.

Friday, February 6 - Spilling the Tea with Mr. Stein @ 9 AM
Join us for another episode of Spilling the Tea with Mr. Stein, where we’ll share updates, upcoming events, and ways families can stay connected and involved.

We are excited to kick off the morning with dads and daughters dancing together in the Greenwood gym. This special tradition creates meaningful memories and celebrates the important relationships in our school community. We can’t wait to see the smiles, laughter, and joy fill the room.

Valentine's Day
Teachers will be sending communication regarding how Valentine’s Day will be celebrated in their classrooms. All questions about student lists or items that may be sent to school should be directed to your child’s teacher.

Arrival Support
When we return to Greenwood, we would greatly appreciate family support during arrival. We are looking for 2–3 parent volunteers to assist outside with opening car doors to help keep arrival running smoothly.

Morning Club Reminders
If we have a 2-hour delay or an asynchronous day next week, morning clubs will not take place.

2 Hour Delay Reminders
On a 2-hour delay, car drop-off will occur from 9:10–9:40 AM. If you arrive after this window, you will need to park and enter the building with your child.

Order Yearbook Today
We encourage families to order yearbooks now, as we often do not have extras available at the end of the year. Ordering early ensures your child has a keepsake filled with memories from this school year.

Kula Spirit Store
With our final Unity Day approaching in March, we invite families to share our Amazon wishlist. Your support ensures we have enough items for students to use their RCA coins, reinforcing positive behavior and schoolwide expectations.

Debra Smith Scholarship - $1000
The Greenwood Elementary School PTA is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Greenwood alumnus who has used their time, talent, and leadership to positively impact their school or broader community.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are so glad to be back together and can’t wait for another great stretch of learning at Greenwood.
