Greenwood Families,

We truly miss your children and cannot wait to welcome them back into the building. Our school feels very quiet without them, and we are looking forward to reconnecting as soon as schools reopen.

We also wanted to provide some clarification and updates on a few upcoming items.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences have been rescheduled for Thursday, February 12. Families will keep their original time slots, and no new sign-up will be released. If you are unable to attend your previously scheduled time, please reach out directly to your child’s teacher so they can open your spot to another family. As always, our teachers are accessible and happy to meet virtually or by phone if needed.

CLICK HERE to Join the PTA
We are hopeful that by the end of the week, all Greenwood families will join the PTA. It takes less than two minutes to sign up, and your membership helps Greenwood work toward recognition as a National PTA School of Excellence.

Counselor Appreciation Week | February 2–6
As we celebrate Counselor Appreciation Week, we encourage students to write a kind note or card for our school counselors to thank them for the care and support they provide each day.

Character Trait Ceremony Reschedule
The Accountable Award Ceremony and Parent Parade has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 5 at 7:25 AM. Please note that Gator Games Morning Club and futsal club will be canceled that morning.

Jump Rope for Heart
If we do not have school in person on Monday, February 2, Jump Rope for Heart will not be rescheduled.

Black History Month Performance
We are still planning to hold our Black History Month Celebration featuring our 3rd graders on Friday, February 6 at 8:00 AM. We are hopeful that parents will be able to attend. This event was intentionally moved to the morning so that 100% of our students could participate.

Spilling the Tea with Mr. Stein at 9 AM
Please join us on Friday, February 6 for another episode of Spilling the Tea with Mr. Stein. Topics will include safety updates, attendance, mentorship opportunities, counseling groups, behavior data, musical performances, the school play, the 5th grade celebration, PTA updates, and ways families can get involved. We will also share what’s brewing at Greenwood, what’s coming next, and how families can help shape the future of our school.

Next Week
At this time, we do not know what the county will decide regarding school next week, as all weather-related decisions are made at the county level. If we do have an asynchronous learning day, students were sent home with work to complete on Friday, January 23. Any questions related to assignments should be directed to your child’s teacher. Our hope remains that we are back in the classroom together on Monday, February 2, 2026.

As a reminder, the work sent home on Friday, January 23 was not to be completed this week. These days off (January 26-30) were true snow days, and no work was required so students could rest, recharge, and enjoy time with their families.

Arrival Support
When we return to Greenwood, we would greatly appreciate family support during arrival. We are looking for 2–3 parent volunteers to assist outside with opening car doors to help keep arrival running smoothly.

Morning Club Reminders
If we have a 2-hour delay or an asynchronous day next week, morning clubs will not take place.

2 Hour Delay Reminders
On a 2-hour delay, car drop-off will occur from 9:10–9:40 AM. If you arrive after this window, you will need to park and enter the building with your child.

Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and support during this extended time away from school. We are grateful for our Greenwood families and cannot wait to be back together, learning and growing as a community.

Boom!

Mr. Stein
