Greenwood Families
We are excited to begin the 3rd marking period and truly appreciate your continued support as we work together toward our end-of-year academic goals. A new quarter is a great opportunity to reset routines, celebrate growth, and encourage students to set personal goals for learning and behavior. Simple actions like reading together at home, talking about daily successes, checking the green take home folder, and maintaining consistent attendance make a powerful difference.
Tardies
We have seen a significant increase in students arriving after the 7:40 AM late bell. Beginning this upcoming week, any students arriving after 7:40 AM will be required to park and walk into the building with a parent or guardian. While this is not a new procedure, it is an important step in supporting student success and safety.
Arriving on time is essential to fully experience our Win the Morning philosophy. From 7:20–7:40 AM, students engage in meaningful morning choice opportunities, learning through play, building friendships, and being warmly welcomed by their teacher at the door. This time sets the tone for the entire day, and we appreciate your partnership in helping every Gator start strong. We have noticed a strong correlation between a sense of belonging and arriving on time to school daily.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Teachers sent home Parent-Teacher Conference sign-ups on Friday, January 16. We strongly encourage families of students participating in reading or math intervention to attend conferences. Additionally, families of students with a case manager are encouraged to schedule an individual check-in so we can continue working together toward a 100% pass rate on the SOLs this April.
READtoRUN Details
Our 5th graders kicked off an incredible program last week! When a homeroom reads 100 books, every student in that class will receive a brand-new pair of running shoes. Students also received books to own, t-shirts, and other exciting swag. We are very grateful for this partnership—keep reading, 5th grade!
Playground Update
We are grateful to HCPS for purchasing additional playground equipment to better support the needs of all our students. These enhancements will help make our playground more inclusive and accessible for all of our Gators!
