Greenwood Families
Thank you, Greenwood family, for your incredible support with our annual canned food drive last week. We can’t wait to crown the Turkey King or Queen on November 25, 2025. These next seven days will be action-packed instructionally, and we appreciate your commitment to ensuring your child arrives on time, well-rested, and ready to learn. Your partnership helps our students stay focused, confident, and prepared to shine each day.

Students are expected to always wear their IDs visibly.
Students are expected to wear their IDs visibly at all times. Wearing their student ID is not optional. This week, we will begin calling parents to assist with replacing IDs, as students without IDs are significantly slowing down our breakfast and lunch lines. Please note: Students without IDs will be asked to sit and wait until all students with IDs have gone through the line to help keep service moving efficiently.
Homework
Please remember that homework is not optional at our school. Our academic expectations are extremely high, and we need your partnership to help students reach these goals. Homework reinforces skills taught in class and helps students build strong study habits that lead to long-term success. It also continues to be our top infraction for upper grades in the RCA app, which shows how important it is for students to develop responsibility and consistency at home.
Missing School Supplies
Our second most frequent infraction in the RCA app is students arriving without necessary supplies. Please make sure your child brings their charged computer every day in their backpack. Students also need headphones, which are used daily for instruction. Beginning in December, students will also receive an infraction for not having their student ID, which is required for both breakfast and lunch.
Morning Meetings - Social and Emotional Curriculum
Our students participate in Morning Meetings daily from 7:50–8:00 AM with their teacher and classmates. These 10 minutes are essential for building a strong sense of belonging, deepening their understanding of our school values, and supporting character development. Morning Meetings also help students strengthen communication skills and build positive peer relationships.
If your child arrives late, they are missing this important start to their day. Students who are not finished with breakfast by 7:45 AM end up eating at their desk instead of participating in these purposeful, thoughtfully designed experiences.
You can help by:
Utilizing our car rider drop-off line between 7:10–7:20 AM to allow enough time for breakfast and arrival.
Encouraging your child to eat breakfast at home to ensure they are ready to learn.
Establishing a consistent bedtime and morning routine to support on-time arrival.
Reviewing your morning schedule to make adjustments that prevent late arrivals.
Packing backpacks and supplies the night before so your child can move efficiently in the morning.
Morning Club Reminder
We highly encourage all club participants to be dropped off in the car rider line between 7:10–7:20 AM. These extracurricular activities are an important extension of our total school program. Students will not be allowed to enter their club after 7:25 AM.
House Achievement - Friday Lunch Celebrations
Each Friday, we celebrate students who meet their academic and behavior goals with open seating, music, ice pops, games, chants, and dances in the cafeteria! Please continue to talk with your child about their weekly goal. These celebrations reinforce consistency, responsibility, and the importance of making positive choices every day.
International Night
Be on the lookout this week for information about our International Night on Thursday, December 11. We are excited to celebrate our community and are seeking a student dance performance!
