Thank you to all of our families for attending conferences last week! We had over 90% of families meet with their child’s teachers — that’s outstanding! Please remember, our teachers are always available throughout the year for in-person or virtual meetings, not just during conference week.

Q2 Morning Clubs
This is the final day to sign up for Quarter 2 morning clubs!

Annual Canned Food Drive
This is the final week to turn in cans for our annual collection! Who will be crowned the Turkey King or Queen? We’ll find out at the end of the drive on Thursday, November 14!

Safety Drill Reminders
This month, students will participate in both a fire drill and a reverse evacuation drill. These regular safety exercises help ensure our Gators know exactly what to do in the event of an emergency. Safety remains one of our highest priorities at Greenwood!

  Students in the House Advisory Committee will stay after school to fulfill and distribute Spirit Shop orders purchased by their peers.

• House Gratos Unity Day

  Join us for a special breakfast from 7:15–7:45 AM for all members of House Gratos. Parents are invited! We’ll follow with our annual Unity Day Pep Rally and Turkey King or Queen Assembly. Don’t forget to wear GREEN to show your Gratos pride!

Save the date — Monday, December 1, 2025! Enjoy a meal at California Pizza Kitchen (dine-in or takeout), and mention Greenwood Elementary when ordering. A portion of proceeds will directly support our school — thank you for helping us continue to shine!

Friendsgiving Celebration Details – Advanced Sign Up Required
We’re excited to welcome you to Greenwood Elementary’s annual Friendsgiving celebration, a special lunch event where students and families come together to share a meal and connect with our school community.

Event Details

• Friendsgiving will be held during your child’s lunch period on Gratos Unity Day, Tuesday, November 25th. We encourage everyone to wear green to celebrate unity and gratitude.

• To help with seating and safety, advance sign-up is required via the grade-level SignUpGenius link below. Each classroom will have 48 seats, with 23 reserved for students.

• The link also includes the opportunity to sign up to volunteer or donate items such as decorations, food (snacks), drinks, utensils, and desserts.

• All donated items must be labeled with your child’s name and grade and delivered by Friday, November 21 at 2 PM.

Meal Options

• Purchased at School - Guests may purchase a Thanksgiving meal from the cafeteria only if signed up in advance and if funds are preloaded to your child’s lunch account. No cash, check, or card payments will be accepted at the event. Snacks will NOT be available for purchase.
  

• Bring Your Own - You’re also welcome to bring lunch from home or an outside vendor (recommended as we anticipate longer cafeteria lines)

Room Parents are invited to:

• Share sign-up links with their classes

• Help organize volunteers for set-up before the lunch period

• Encourage donations of items such as decorations, food (snacks), drinks, utensils, and desserts.

Lunch Schedule & Locations
Please review your child’s lunch and volunteer set-up times below. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early to check in through the main office.

Reminders

• Please allow extra time for parking.

• Younger siblings are welcome, but if a baby becomes upset, please step out briefly to help maintain a calm environment.

• If you plan to check your child out after lunch, notify the teacher by Monday, November 24 at 2:00 PM. Students will bring their backpacks to lunch and can be signed out directly from the cafeteria or gym.
