We are excited to begin Week 7 together! Our hope is that all 700+ students and families will register for our Greenwood Unity Drive this week. This one fundraiser supports teacher school supplies, teacher luncheons, the Gator Gala, our hallway magic, student celebrations, community events, and classroom experiences that make Greenwood such a special place.

Grades
Thank you for continuing to check your child’s grades at home through PowerSchool. If you need support with this process, please give us a call at the school.
Homework
Thank you for encouraging your child to complete their weekly homework. Homework is assigned in reading and math to reinforce classroom instruction, and teachers review it to assess student progress and identify areas of need. Consistent homework practice builds responsibility and helps strengthen foundational skills.
Lanyards
We have seen a significant rise in students forgetting their lanyards daily. This week, forms will be sent home for ID replacements. The first replacement is free, but the second will have a fee. Please remember that when a student does not have their ID, it slows down our breakfast and lunch lines for everyone.
Transportation Changes
Please notify both the teacher and the office if you are making a transportation change. Teachers may not have time during the day to check email, so it is essential that the office is aware. If your child is changing from daycare to car pickup or bus, families must also notify the daycare so they are not searching for your child. Changes without daycare notification can significantly slow down our dismissal process.
Bus Behavior
Students are expected to ride the bus while showing their Gator Values. We will not tolerate verbal bullying toward students or drivers, physical hitting, moving seats, standing, throwing items, using inappropriate language, or refusing to follow driver directions. A Tier 2/3 infraction will result in a minimum of a one-week bus suspension. This week, we will be requesting and reviewing bus film from each bus to monitor behavior closely.

October 10 - 5th Grade Convocation
Join us for our first-ever Convocation from 8:15–8:45 AM in the gym. Parents are welcome—please allow extra time for parking.

The Gifted Identification
The window will open Monday, Oct. 27th and close Monday, November 10th. A Google form will be sent in Parent Square allowing a student’s name to submitted for the process.
