We can’t wait to see all our families, and we are hoping for 100% attendance. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the daily schedule and how to support your child in achieving their academic and behavior goals. Families will also gain insight into upcoming projects, assessments, and events that shape the year ahead. Most importantly, this evening allows you to connect with teachers, ask questions, and build a strong partnership to ensure your child’s success.
Tonight will feature the following sessions:
5:00 PM – PK and Kindergarten Back to School and House Reveal
All families will head to the classrooms starting at 4:50 PM. There will be a 25-minute session filled with great information, followed by the big house reveal. The PTA will have house shirts available for $12. Cash will help you move through the line quickly. We are hoping all PK and Kindergarten students can wear their house shirts on Friday so we can celebrate!
6:00 PM – Gifted Learning Open House (Library) Session with Gifted Resource Teacher and Student Support Teacher
6:00 PM – Nuts and Bolts of Greenwood (Art Room): Session with an Arabic translator
6:00 PM – Nuts and Bolts of Greenwood (Music Room): : Session with a Spanish translator

All 1st–5th grade classrooms will host in-person sessions at 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM. We will close all classrooms at 7:30 PM. Thank you, families, for respecting this timeline so we can get our teachers home to rest and prepare for an incredible Friday in the classroom.
FAQ's
Do I have to bring my 1st–5th grade student to Back to School Night?
No, but they are welcome to attend. We do hope that if you have younger siblings and they are getting restless during a presentation, you step out of the classroom. We want to create an incredible learning experience for all families.
Where do I park?
Our PK and Kindergarten families will be using our parking lot from 4:45–5:50 PM. Our hope is that once they leave, we will have spots available for families attending the 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM sessions.
Can I meet one-on-one with my child’s teacher tonight?
This would not be the appropriate time for an individual conference. You are more than welcome to schedule a private meeting with your child’s teacher after tonight.
What if I can’t make it tonight?
We are really hoping all families can attend—especially if your child is not currently meeting their academic and/or behavior goals. This night provides key information that sets students up for success. If you cannot attend, please contact your child’s teacher to receive important updates.
Will translation be available?
Yes! We will have a Spanish session in the Music Room and an Arabic session in the Art Room at 6:00 PM.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing something to take notes, and cash if you’d like to purchase a house shirt from the PTA ($12).
Will childcare be provided?
No, childcare is not provided. However, children are welcome to attend with families, and we ask that all families help maintain a focused environment in classrooms.
How long will each session last?
Each classroom session will be about 25 minutes. This gives you time to hear from your child’s teacher and ask general questions before moving to the next session.
We are so grateful for your partnership in making Greenwood a place where every child shines. Tonight is about connection, collaboration, and celebration—together, we can make this school year our best one yet!
