Dear Greenwood Families,
We are excited to invite grandparents to our Grandparents Luncheon on Friday, September 5! This special tradition is a wonderful way for grandparents and students to share time together during the school day.
📍 Location: Gator Gardens (1st, 4th, PK, 3rd) or Gym (5th, K, 2nd) (tables and chairs will be provided; please note shade is limited)
⏰ Arrival: We recommend arriving about 10 minutes early, as parking is limited. Please note we only have 4 handicap spaces available, and they typically fill early.
To help us plan accordingly, we kindly ask that you email your child’s teacher no later than Thursday, September 4.
Important Details
Grandparents will remain outdoors for the luncheon and will not enter the building.
We encourage grandparents to bring lunch to enjoy with their student.
For this event, grandparents are not permitted to purchase cafeteria meals in order to keep lines moving for students.
Following the luncheon, grandparents will not be able to visit classrooms. (We have many upcoming events where families will be welcome inside the building!)
Food Truck Available
We will have a food truck, Curbside Creations, on campus at Greenwood for Grandparents to purchase lunch. We highly recommend CLICKING HERE to order your food ahead of time or arriving 15-20 minutes early to place your order in person. Kona Ice will also be available for purchase. Parents may send in $5 to buy a Kona Ice for your child’s teacher and/or $10 to provide them with lunch—a thoughtful way to show our amazing teachers how much we appreciate their support during the first three weeks of school. Please send cash in an envelope with your child's name and teacher clearly written on it to the main office before 9 AM. Remember, you will have 30 minutes with your grandchild.

Kindergarten: 11:15 – 11:45 AM
Pre-K: 11:25 – 11:55 AM
3rd Grade: 12:00 – 12:30 PM
2nd Grade: 12:10 – 12:40 PM
Can’t Attend This Time?
We know schedules don’t always align. If grandparents are unable to attend this luncheon, please know our doors are always open to have lunch with your child or grandchild when school is open! We also encourage you to join us at another upcoming family event before Thanksgiving:

October 24: Sol Unity Day Pep Rally (8:20 AM, note: loud event)

November 6: Free Family Photos (3:00–6:00 PM)
November 11: Veteran’s Day Assembly (8:15 AM)
November 25: Friendsgiving Luncheon (lunch times)
