Recess Equipment Needed
Our summer programs were a huge success—but they also left our shared recess equipment well-loved and worn out. If you’re cleaning out your garage and have extra sports balls, jump ropes, or other playground items, we’d love to give them a new home! You can also support our students by clicking the link below to make a donation. If you have contacts at sports clubs that may be replacing their soccer balls or other gear, please connect us.

Tuesday, August 12 – Teacher Communication
At 12:00 PM, your child’s new teacher will send a Welcome Back to School message filled with important details about the upcoming school year. Please be sure you have downloaded Parent Square so you don’t miss this message.

Thursday, August 14 – Orientation & Open House
Join us for Orientation and Open House—a great opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and strengthen our school-family connection before the year begins.

• 9:00 AM – Pre-K and Kindergarten families meet in the gym for orientation.

• 9:00 AM – New families in Grades 1–5 meet in the library.

• 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – All returning families in Grades 1–5 are invited to drop off supplies and meet their child’s teacher.

House Shirts 
We strongly encourage all students, staff, and parents in 1st–5th grade to purchase a House shirt. Our KinderGators will have their big House Reveal on September 11, and then they’ll be able to get their shirts too! House shirts are a staple at Greenwood—they’re worn on Fridays, pep rallies, field day, field trips, and many other exciting events throughout the year. Show your pride and represent your House!

Sunday, August 17 – Night Before School Virtual Event @ 7:00 PM
Join us for one of our favorite Greenwood traditions—our Virtual Bedtime Story, PTA Meeting, and PAC Greetings. We’ll kick off at 7:00 PM with a joyful read-aloud to set the tone for the first day of school. After the story, our administrative team, PTA, and PAC will stay on to answer any last-minute questions about the first day.

Monday, August 18 – First Day of School
The first day of school is Monday, August 18. Arrival begins at 7:10 AM. Thank you in advance for your patience with our bus drivers as routes may take a little longer on the first day.

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is open for families to complete required forms via Ecollect. When you login into the Parent Portal, you will also be able to see your child’s teacher.
