Safety Update from Administration
We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated bus drivers, who work hard to transport our students safely to and from school. However, we’ve noticed an increase in bus referrals for unsafe behaviors, such as students standing or sitting on the back of their seats while the bus is in motion. We ask that all parents of bus riders please remind their children that they must remain seated, follow the driver’s directions, and keep their hands to themselves. Our drivers cannot monitor every behavior while safely focusing on the road, so it's important for students to do their part. Failure to follow these safety rules may result in the loss of school-related privileges and, in some cases, bus-riding privileges. We will continue to prioritize student safety and appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations.

Transportation Change Reminders
Last week, we experienced the highest number of transportation changes all year, and we kindly remind you to follow these important procedures. All transportation changes must be submitted in writing, preferably through a note sent in your child's green folder the day of the change. If you email, please ensure you copy all of your child's teachers, as 2nd-5th grade is departmentalized, and 5th grade dismisses from their homeroom teacher. Additionally, be sure to include Mrs. Jae and Mrs. Christina in your email, as teachers may not always have time to check messages during the school day while actively teaching. Please note that same-day changes will not be accepted over the phone unless it is an emergency.

Each 1st - 5th grade class will have a representative meet in the library from 7:20 - 7:45 AM to provide feedback on our house system. Please note, if your child has been selected for this committee but arrives after 7:25 AM, they will be replaced in their leadership position immediately, as there are only four meetings throughout the year.

Tuesday, October 29: Q1 Academic Award Ceremony
Each classroom will hold an intimate award ceremony during the day to recognize students who have earned awards throughout the marking period, including All A’s, A/B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, and Gator Achievement. This ceremony is closed to parents, as it will take place at different times throughout the day due to our instructional schedules. However, be on the lookout for highlights shared in your child’s teacher’s Thursday communication.

Wednesday, October 30: Win the Morning Showcase – Q1 Performances
We can’t wait to see performances from our bucket drumline, ADL, cheerleaders, dance team, advanced dance, flag twirlers, Hatha Yoga, and Tubanos!

Thursday, October 31: Book Character Extravaganza
Students are invited to dress up as their favorite book character! We will parade the students in costume during their lunch for a Book Character paragraph presentation. This special event encourages creativity and brings stories to life, helping foster a deeper love for reading by connecting students to the characters and books they enjoy.

October 28-31: 1-on-1 Teacher/Student Conferences (SLC)
During the week, each student will have a 1-on-1 meeting with a teacher to review their progress and development for Student-Led Conferences (SLC) and to discuss their academic performance from Q1. We take goal setting very seriously at school. Our students spend 22% of their time with us Monday through Friday, and we want to ensure we are helping them achieve their academic goals. Thank you, parents, for supporting them during the other 78% of their day. We can't reach our academic and behavior goals without your partnership!
