Greenwood Families
We have another bright week ahead of us! Together, we’ll continue to SHINE our light and support one another as a community. We are looking for volunteers to open car doors on a Monday or Friday (CLICK HERE) or share their musical talent with us by playing in the hallways (CLICK HERE). We want our families in our school!

Field Trip Reminders
Thank you for sending in your child’s field trip money ahead of time. It becomes challenging to collect payments on the day of the trip.
Morning Arrival Reminders
We begin unloading cars at 7:10 AM. Please remember that your child should not be left unattended at the main entrance before this time.
Tardies
We have seen a significant increase in the number of students arriving after 7:40 AM this past week. When your child is late, they miss the chance to participate in a morning club or engage in classroom relationship-building activities during fun morning choices. Morning announcements begin at 7:45 AM, followed by our social and emotional curriculum at 7:52 AM, led by teachers, administrators, Heads of House, and Spirit Captains. "Win the Morning" is an important philosophy at Greenwood, and we don’t want your child to miss being part of it. If your child has been tardy more than five times this school year, you will receive a letter from our attendance team offering support to ensure your child can enjoy the full magical Greenwood experience.
Morning Clubs
Morning clubs close their doors promptly at 7:25 AM. If your child misses two practices or gatherings, they will no longer be able to participate in that particular club. Registration for 2nd quarter morning clubs will open on October 27, and we have some exciting new opportunities coming! If any parent is interested in leading a morning club, please reach out to Mr. Stein at rtstein@henrico.k12.va.us.
Snack Reminders
Please remember that students are not allowed to bring peanut snacks into the classroom. This is a school-wide procedure to ensure the safety of all students.
Cafeteria
We love having parents join their children for lunch! Please remember that students should eat with their parents and cannot bring a friend to the parent table. Additionally, students should not be using cell phones to watch TikTok or movies during lunch, in line with Henrico County's policy against cell phone use during the instructional day. If the cafeteria is crowded, parents are welcome to use our outdoor seating in Gator Gardens.
Monday, October 7: Candy Collection for Trunk or Treat
We are excited to kick off our candy collection for Trunk or Treat, happening on October 25 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Be sure to label the candy you send with your child’s house! The house that collects the most candy will earn 10 house points.
