Happy New Year!

Dear Families,
As we begin a new calendar year (and another decade), I wanted to take this time to reintroduce myself to you. I am a 29-year veteran of HCPS. I have been at Greenwood since 2004, when the doors of the school first opened. Greenwood is my second home and holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve watched the school literally “grow up” from the brick and mortar phase to a bright, bustling building that houses a wonderfully diverse learning community. Living only minutes away, I often run into students and families at grocery stores and sporting events at nearby feeder schools. I love our students, and strive every day to make personal connections with them by making myself readily accessible to them throughout the day. As a parent of two young adults (19 and 17), I am not so far removed from understanding the challenges that students face on a daily basis, both inside and outside of the classroom. I pride myself on getting to know our students as individuals; learning their interests and building relationships to help them navigate through those challenging times and last far beyond the walls of Greenwood.
As I reflect on my years past and clarify my vision for 20/20, it is my desire to strengthen those bonds, not only with our students, but with parents as well. The success of all students begins with consistent and direct communication. I am committed to partnering with you to provide a model of excellence for communication and collaboration for our students. Please know that I am dedicated to your child’s success. Thank you for your support and allowing me to be an active participant in your child’s journey as s/he seeks to discover and preserve their contribution to our school community.
Mrs. L. Jackson
Associate Principal
